Volunteer

WHY SHOULD I VOLUNTEER?

In answer to the question "Why volunteer?" Uncle Sam says:

"Remember, volunteer service is the price you pay to live in a free country.... Join the Colorado State Defense Force (Provisional) today!"

The following short story illustrates in a very basic way the continuing importance of volunteer service in the Colorado State Defense Force (Provisional):

Once upon a time there were four people; Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

An important job had to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did.

Somebody got angry because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it and that Somebody would.

But Nobody realized that Everybody thought that Somebody would do it.

Finally, Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did the job that Anybody could have done.
